How to Become a Christian
If you were to die today, do you know for sure if you would go to Heaven?
If you arrived in Heaven and God asked you, “Why should I let you in?”… what would you say?
Are you sure you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior?
You need to hear the Gospel if you can’t say with 100% certainty that you know the right answer to these questions.
Here’s why you want to be saved – really.
Everyone has a God-shaped box in their souls.
Some people try to fill it up with alcohol or drugs. Some try to fill it up with food. Others try to fill it up with exercise. Or their significant other. Or a celebrity. Still yet, others try to fill it up with social media.
All of these people are called addicts. Because even unsaved people know that these aren’t going to fill up that lonely part in your soul.
But what’s the answer? How can you not be an addict?
God created your soul and He knows what He created you for. Don’t you want that sense of purpose? That is true freedom.
Here’s what you need to know to become a Christian and get into Heaven-
God created a perfect world for us in the Garden of Eden, but Adam and Eve decided that they wanted more. Satan convinced them that they were missing out. Through their choice, now all humanity has to suffer and be separate from God.
“So the LORD God banished them from the Garden of Eden, and he sent Adam out to cultivate the ground from which he had been made.” Genesis 3:23
There is no one good, not even one. Everyone has sinned.
Psalm 14:3. “They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one.”
The penalty for sin is death.
Ezekiel 18:4b- “The soul who sins shall die.”
Here’s where the good news starts: God went after us despite our sin.
Luke 19:10- For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.
God did this because He loves us and wants us to choose to believe Him.
John 3:16- “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Repent of your wrongs towards God. (Ask God for forgiveness.)
Acts 3:19- “Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out.”
If you believe this in your heart, and have asked for forgiveness, the next step is to tell someone, tell a pastor, or tell me. I would be honored to help you.
Romans 10:10- For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.
Did you decide to believe? Then you believe the Gospel (the Good News) and you are now a Christian!!! The angels just rejoiced over you in Heaven for your choice.

Seems too easy to be true, or too simple?
To become a Christian you need to repent of your sin; ask God to forgive you because of your sins… and make steps to become more and more like Christ. It isn’t easy, but it’s rewarding. It takes a lifetime of choices and self-sacrifice. But it’s God’s plan for you.
“He (Jesus) must become more important, but I must become less important.” John 3:30
Here are some ways to get started if you made this decision for the first time! Or even if you just need a refresher. It’s good to preach the Gospel to yourself on a daily basis. 🙂
